Our specific work

Billions of dollars is spent annually on humanitarian efforts and development agendas. East Africa accounts for one of the largest and most complex humanitarian and development programs in the world. Still, the region falls behind on almost all development indices. A lot of that is attributed to the disjointed and often competing priorities of development partners and the duplicity of activities.

Based on decades of experience, our experts believe that humanitarian and development efforts need to be aligned and even integrated where possible. The two paradigms are mutually reinforcing, not mutually exclusive. And while competition for better quality and faster delivery of service should be celebrated, parallelism should be avoided. We will work with development partners to ensure that the nexus between humanitarian and development agendas is strengthened and improved.

Under this practice, we provide our clients with the following services:

  • Strategies to align humanitarian and development efforts
  • Providing assessment, monitoring and evaluation services
  • Support to humanitarian and development agencies with data-driven solutions
